Endlich habe ich's mal wieder geschafft, ein ganz und gar alltagstaugliches Kleidungsstück zu nähen. Also eines, wo ich nicht alle Papierstapel beim Vorbeigehen mit meinem Petticoat vom Tisch fege.
Et voilà: Ein Oberteil mit Schösschen. Ich hatte solche Tops schon mehrmals gesehen, da sie im Moment ziemlich verbreitet sind. Mir war aber nicht bewusst, dass "dieses Röcklein, das da dran hängt" einen speziellen Namen hat. Bis ich natürlich für die Schnittmustersuche einen Suchbegriff brauchte. Nach einigem Recherchieren weiss ich jetzt, dass das Ding "Schösschen" heisst. Ich lerne nie aus :-) Und das geeignete Schnittmuster fand ich übrigens nicht im Internet, sondern bei einer Schülerin, die mir ein solches Top zum Nachschneidern auslieh.
Ich verwendete Baumwollsatin, der ist leicht dehnbar und glänzender als normale Baumwolle. Als Ausgleich nähte ich an den Ausschnitt eine recht grobe Klöppelspitze. Hinten ist ein Reissverschluss, damit man überhaupt hineinkommt, denn das Top ist recht figurbetont. Die Säume sind nicht überall sorgfältig gemacht. Es war nicht ganz einfach, den Stoff sauber umzufalten, vorallem beim Schösschen, da es ja Kreisform hat. Im Grossen und Ganzen bin ich aber zufrieden mit dem Resultat.

I finally managed to sew a more casual piece of clothing again. I mean one where I don't sweep down all the papers from the table with my petticoat as soon as I walk by. Et voilà: A peplum top. I had seen many such pieces before as they are quite popular at the moment. But I wasn't aware that there was a special name for "that small skirt there". Until I needed a search word for finding a pattern. After some research I know now that the correct term is "peplum". See, I never stop learning :-) And I finally didn't find the pattern on the internet. A student lent me a peplum top of her own so I could figure out how to sew one.
I used cotton satin which is slightly elastic and shinier than cotton. In contrast to that I attached a very plain lace to the neckline. At the back is a zipper. That's relatively essential, because the top is rather close-fitting. The hems aren't that well done. It wasn't easy to fold the material properly, especially the peplum, as it is circle-shaped. But all in all I'm happy with the result.
